Mitochondria generate cellular energy using nutrients. However, it is not free there are prices, free radicals. Free radicals are generated through metabolic process in mitochondria. This free radicals could lead damage mitochondria or cellular protein and DNA. Accumulation of damages could lead dysfunction of cellular organelle and mitochondria. In physiological level, it could lead metabolic aging, which everybody has faced. In pathological level, excessive amount of damages could lead age-related diseases, such as Parkinson, FTD and sarcopenia.
