Mitochondrial Thermogenesis, a Key of Metabolic Aging
Interestingly, mitochondria have a set of uncoupling proteins (UCPs) that generate heat instead of ATP. The physiological role of UCPs is not fully understood but largely related with metabolic diseases and aging process. We are also working on the research project to elucidate their role in mitochondrial biology and its physiological consequences, aging and metabolic diseases
